Making The Mask

Step 1

Fold a large piece of fabric in half and then fold again so that you can cut 2 masks at once

Cut out your desired template 

You will now have 2 pieces of fabric

Step 2

With an iron, press in edges of fabric 1/2"on all 4 sides

Step 3

Fold the fabric in half and pin the top and bottom edges

Step 4

Stitch across the top and bottom

Step 5

The Pleats

Measure and mark from the top 2", 4", 6" for an adult mask or 2", 3.5", 5" for a child mask. 

Starting from the top, fold and iron across the 2" line and fold that line up 1/2". Repeat for the next two pleats.

Step 6

Inserting the elastic just below the top stitch and above the bottom stitch, Sew down the sides of your mask. Don't foget to backstitch so the elastic stays in.
